If you are new to weight-loss medication, or you have not taken any for some time, you must start on the lowest dose of 1.5mg. Starting low and building up gradually gives your body time to adjust and keeps side effects, such as mild nausea, to a minimum. Your dose then steps up roughly every 30 days.
